The ghee stored in air tight containers for 10 plus years is called Pra Purana Ghrita. Purana means old, and Ghrita means ghee. As per Ayurveda, the old ghee has very unique benefits in neurological and psychological disorders.
HOW IS PURANA GHRITA AGE DETERMINED
We procure our EGA Ayurveda aged-ghee from Ashta Vaidya generation of specialised physicians (eighth generation of Ayurveds). Over generations they keep the ghee, made by traditional vedic bilona method, buried under land in optimal conditions of soil and temperature. As per traditional wisdom, the chronology of the ghee is determined by planting trees over the same spot where the ghee is buried on various religious occasions through the year as markers of age. The age of the ghee when taken out from the soil is thus easily determined by the age of the surrounding planted trees.
